Park The Car, Ride The Ferry

Before our week got ridiculously crazy...we made it for a day trip to Boston! We took the Quincy Ferry & enjoyed a fun boat ride to Boston. Along the way, we learned of George Island & are very curious about that small quiet island!
When in the city, we stopped at all of the favorites...or mostly, just the north end to feel reconnected with Italia. It was a perfect weather for a day trip!

Looking the part as locals:
Red Sox hats & Dunkin Donuts coffee cups in hand
It's so much fun to travel to the city this way. It's part of the adventure of the day, easy to do, and dropped off in the perfect spot: minutes from "little Italy".
Love that dirty water!
(Ok, this isn't the Charles River...which is getting cleaner, isn't it??)
Walking the streets of the North End
What a nice reminder of the streets of Italy.
Salumeria Italiana
One of N8's favorite shops to stop in.
Street performers of Faneuil Hall
Eri sat close with N8 and watched in awe.
Soon, he was scooting up closer to the action & telling N8 how cool it was.
Grandma works so close to Quincy Market! A perfect place to meet for lunch.
We even got to stop in & see where she works.
Walking back to the playground Eri spotted within 10 minutes of setting foot in Boston.
It's just awesome that he has N8's memory.
Eri had so much fun making his Duck Penny outside Quincy Market.
He got to turn the crank & flatten a penny.
Look at my Duck Penny!!
(The Make Way For Duckling book now a popular souvenir by flattening a penny.)
Dad is enjoying the greens of Boston's new park.
Thank you taxpayers of the USA.
We are happy with the finished product!
Eri too, enjoys the new greens.
He watched kids play in a spray park while he ate his snack from Mike's Pastry...oh wait..is that a rice cake? Maybe we decided we'd enjoy the Mike's & he'd have the nice tasteless rice cake.
