Her 6th month appointment has come and gone.....
On Dec 23rd, she weighed 14.2 lbs. Her height was 25.25 inches. And her head measured 17 inches (you know, for those measuring out the latest hair accessories).
During her check-up and another appointment for Eri, we found out both had ear infections....Merry Christmas, eh?!? Poor things. Travelling kicks our butt at times.
So today was the lucky day for Leona to have 4 shots (one after another! boooo.) and an oral vaccine. I hate those. More than once, I've had the technician hand me the med to give, just so they can spit it out on me instead of them.
Poor Leona was not a happy camper after being pricked numerous times. But she fell asleep in the car on our way to pick Eri up from our friends'.
I also had an eye doctor appointment and learned it's time to up my prescription. And here's an interesting tid-bit I learned while there: Your eyes can change while you're pregnant. They advise you to have your eyes checked after a pregnancy rather than during, however. It is more common to see changes in your eye sight if you had gestational diabetes.
Oh, and Mom, go to the doctor and have your eyes checked. Wearing 2 pairs (at the same time!) of the drugstore reading glasses really just makes you look funny. That's right, everyone knows now...well, all Smithnotes blog-readers know. The doctor advised that as you get older and need glasses for reading, both eyes do not necessarily need the same strength, and to wear the non-customized glasses means you are compensating an eye that may not need it. He didn't seem to think any permanent damage could be done...but still. Just go.
